How it Helps

High Point Medical Center has a variety of ways to use your generous donations. You can give gifts in honor/memory of someone, to our Endowment Fun or our Annual Fund.  But perhaps you would rather give to a specific department or promote continuing education of our nursing staff. There are many ways you can contribute to specific departments and as always, we deeply appreciate your willingness to give.

For special inquiries, please call the Foundation office at (336) 878-6011.

Behavioral Health Center

The Behavioral Health Center provides behavioral health assessments, inpatient and outpatient treatment programs for chemical dependency and psychiatric conditions. The Center provides stable and reliable support to people in the community when emotional crises arise. There is no need to feel alone during difficult times.

A gift to High Point Medical Center's Behavioral Health Center will support the many services offered to clients in need. Among these services are crisis intervention, counseling, therapeutic activity programs, life skills training and referrals to other community support agencies.

Capital Gifts

The most up-to-date technology and equipment is vital to quality patient care. Your capital gifts will enable the High Point Medical Center’s staff to provide the best care possible.

Congdon Heart and Vascular Center

Congdon Heart and Vascular Center offers state-of-the-art heart care to individuals who have been affected by cardiopulmonary disease. Gifts will enable the Heart Center to improve the health of our community through preventive education programs, cardiac screenings, patient services and state-of-the-art equipment all designed to fight the #1 killer of Americans—heart disease.

Diabetes Health and Wellness Center

Over 18 million people in the United States have diabetes—over 389,000 of them live in North Carolina. If left untreated, complications arising from this chronic illness can include such catastrophic losses as limb amputation, blindness and end-stage kidney disease.

The Diabetes Self-Care Management Center Fund provides assistance for people in need who suffer from diabetes—to give them a better quality of life and prevent serious diabetes-related damage.

Gifts to the Center may be made to help patients purchase medicine, equipment and education. All gifts are tax-deductible and can be made in honor or memory of someone special.

Emergency Services

Each year, more than 65,000 patients are treated in the Emergency Center at High Point Medical Center. No one who needs care is turned away. To help support this very important service, please consider a gift to the Emergency Center.

Gifts may be made to the Emergency Department provide the most up-to-date equipment to insure the ability to care for all types of emergency needs, assist with the purchase of medication and other necessary items for financially needy patients, and much more!

Hayworth Cancer Center

The Charles E. and Pauline Lewis Hayworth Cancer Center at High Point Medical Center provides all of the elements for compassionate care under one roof, including outpatient radiation therapy, outpatient chemotherapy, inpatient hospitalization and an array of support facilities and programs. The Center was designed with the health care and well-being of cancer patients and their families in mind—to create an environment of healing and wholeness.

Heart Strides

Heart disease is America’s #1 killer among men and women. Pulmonary disease, just behind cardiac conditions in seriousness, is also on the rise and can have severe effects. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation treatment is essential to improve a patient’s quality of life and to help prevent future attacks.

High Point Medical Center believes in helping all patients on the road to recovery, but some patients are unable to afford this life-extending treatment. For that reason, the Heart Strides scholarship fund provides financial assistance. Gifts to Heart Strides go directly to heart and lung patients for scholarships to the rehab program. All gifts are 100 percent tax-deductible. Any gift may be made in honor of or in memory of someone.

LoveLine

The LoveLine Cancer Support Program at High Point Medical Center has offered a wide variety of services to patients for many years. Because of this program, cancer patients and their families have access to financial assistance for crisis necessities not covered by other resources. Donations to the LoveLine Fund are welcomed at any time of the year. This is the perfect way to honor, remember, or recognize those who are special to you. An acknowledgement card will be sent to the individual or family you have honored with no mention of the gift amount.  Read More...

Millis Regional Health Education Center

The Millis Regional Health Education Center helps children learn about the human body and how to keep themselves healthy through a hands-on approach to learning about good health.

Your gift can help give children in our community a head start toward a lifetime of good health and wellness.

Nursing Education

The Nursing Education Fund is used to promote ongoing education of the Health System's nursing staff. The fund supports nurses in specialty exams and underwrites expenses of those exams. The Scholarship Fund makes it possible to bring educational programs on campus for the nursing staff. Patients, and their families, as well as our nurses, benefit from the fund as we continue to promote nursing excellence at High Point Medical Center.

The Rehab Center

Whether it's physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, massage therapy, pain management or industrial rehabilitation, or a combination of these, High Point Medical Center Rehab patients receive the health care they need in one place to rebuild active, productive lives.

Women's Health

The Women’s Center at High Point Medical Center is devoted to the health care needs of women—including the Women’s Imaging Center (mammography, ultrasound and bone density testing), the Women’s Resource Center, the Childbirth Suite and the Newborn Nursery.

Please consider a gift to the Women’s Center to ensure the women of the Triad and our greater region, and their newborn children, receive the best health care possible, regardless of ability to pay.
